Just recent, a new clip is made for this populair first single with Mariska Veres in front of the band Shocking Blue. In February 1970 Venus was the number one hit in the USA. They sold more than one million copies and therefore the band was honored on the 17 of February in The Netherlands. The clip was colored by my SB friend Richard and you see them playing in the Dutch Museum ' Het Stedelijk Museum". in Amsterdam. ENJOY!!!

Shocking Blue made a come back end of 1984 and it lasted till 1987. In 1986 they recorded 2 singles, This one and Time is a Jetplane. The last one was never released (but it is on my channel) and this one only made it to this Dutch show, broadcasted on 28 of February 1987. The clip is on my channel, but the quality is not that good. This one is much better. we see in the clip, Robbie van Leeuwe...

Mariska Veres has always recorded her solo singles quite selectively. In her second last single from 1980, you can clearly hear how strong and powerful her voice was. Finally, thanks to Red Bullet, this song has been remastered, and you can clearly hear her qualities. Looking out for number one was also recorded in 1982 by Laura Brannigan (self-control 1984)

Ik kocht het singletje Send me a postcard toen het uitkwam en was als twaalfjarige jongen helemaal verslingerd aan Shocking Blue en Mariska was mijn Godin. Maar, na de tweede elpee was de fut compleet uit de band en alle muziek die toen gemaakt werd was bubblegum die je het liefst zo gauw mogelijk uitspuugde. In deze video haast niets over het verval van Shocking Blue.
